Currency Redesign

China has not made any significant changes to its currency design since 2005. Each banknote has Mao Zedong on the front and a historical location on the back. The current design is outdated and does little to fully represent China. In this redesign, the main image on the front is now the first person China successfully sent to space. Dragons and Pandas are both regarded as national symbols of China and China's national flower, shown in the top corner, is the plum blossom. Most of the elements were altered and styled for counterfeiting prevention and security purposes. I chose to use a light gradient going from red to green to yellow, China’s lucky colors, to show change and progression. For consistency, a similar gradient effect was applied to some of the text and elements.
